SEVEN PEOPLE STANDING IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS; ONE PERSON IN MIDDLE HOLDING TWO AWARD PLAQUES

ACS – Support personnel from across Alabaster City Schools were recognized this week for their outstanding dedication and contributions to students. 

The 2024-2025 Support Personnel of the Year Awards were held at the March Board of Education meeting at Alabaster City Hall. Honorees were formally recognized during the board meeting; a reception for friends, family, and colleagues was held prior to the meeting. 

This year’s Support Personnel honorees exemplify excellence and commitment to student success, ensuring every student is supported with professionalism and care.

The following have been honored for their exceptional service within their respective schools:

Support Person of the Year

  • Creek View Elementary: Racquelle Lane

  • Meadow View Elementary: LuAnn Gossett

  • Thompson Intermediate: Emily McClain

  • Thompson Middle: Catherine Jetzel

  • Thompson High: Catherine “Cappy” Ratcliffe

  • Central Office: Jean Rose (overall winner)

Bus Driver of the Year

  • Creek View Elementary: Susan Masterson

  • Meadow View Elementary: Ralph Nelson

  • Thompson Intermediate: Amanda Kane

  • Thompson Middle: Lisa Hammett

  • Thompson High: Mike Sherwood

Child Nutrition Program (CNP) Person of the Year

  • Creek View Elementary: Candace Lowery (overall winner)

  • Meadow View Elementary: Janet Johnson

  • Thompson Intermediate: Latesha Oden

  • Thompson Middle: Linda Hutcheson

  • Thompson High: Kasey Weeks

Counselor of the Year

  • Elementary: Lauren Clark

  • Secondary: Danleigh Jenkins

Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers and the ACS Board of Education congratulated these employees for rising to the top of their profession.

“This is such a wonderful group to recognize. They are certainly a very important part of our ACS family in making great things happen for our children each day," Dr. Vickers said.
