Superintendent's Student Advisory Committee

Purpose

The purpose of the Superintendent's Student Advisory Committee (SSAC) is to embrace our mission to prepare responsible and productive graduates by providing student stakeholders with a voice in the development of Alabaster City Schools.

Selection

The Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee members are student representatives from each of the five Alabaster City Schools, selected by school administrators based on each student's character and leadership. Committee members serve a minimum of two years; at the end of the second academic calendar, members may be asked to continue to serve, or school administrators will select new representatives to serve as SSAC members.

Duties

·        Attend scheduled meetings

·        Express views and opinions openly, constructively, and respectfully

·        Work collaboratively to assess concerns, implement solutions, and explore innovative ideas

The committee meets with Dr. Vickers or a designee at Alabaster City Schools' Central Office.

Elementary school committee meetings are from 8:30 – 9:30 am.
