ACS Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers has been appointed as the President of the School Superintendents of Alabama (SSA). The news comes during SSA's annual Summer Conference. SSA is the professional organization serving superintendents across Alabama.
Dr. Vickers expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to work collaboratively with educators across Alabama to enhance educational outcomes for all students.
"I am deeply humbled and honored to assume the role of President of SSA," Dr. Vickers said. "SSA in an outstanding organization that has always been student-focused. I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues as I take on this new role."
With more than three decades of diverse education experience, Dr. Vickers assumes leadership at SSA after serving serving in other capacities on the SSA Board of Directors.
His tenure as SSA President will focus on education advocacy and advancing initiatives to benefit public education across Alabama.
