A strong foundation in math is critical for students as it provides essential building blocks for understanding more complex mathematical concepts down the road. That's why ACS utilizes the Early Numeracy Screener from Forefront, an assessment tool approved by the Alabama Numeracy Act, to support math development K-2. This month, Creek View Elementary, Meadow View Elementary, and Thompson Intermediate hosted Forefront creator David Woodard and Krystina Maloukis, ACS customer success manager. They met with principals, math coaches, and grade-level representatives, reviewing data and discussing ways to close learning gaps in the early grades.
Later, Forefront team members visited Thompson Intermediate School to gather valuable feedback from math leaders on a new tool—the 4th and 5th Grade Fractional Reasoning Screener. This collaborative exchange emphasized ACS's commitment to innovative solutions for improving student success in math.
