Currently serving as vice president, Henderson brings more than a decade of board leadership experience, as well as a long-standing commitment to public education and community service.
Henderson, a longtime resident of Alabaster, retired from State Farm Insurance Companies in 2012 after a 36-year career. He previously served as president of the THS Quarterback Club and has volunteered extensively with local youth initiatives, including the Better Basics literacy program. He also mentored a group of Thompson students from sixth grade through their graduation in 2020.
In addition to his local service, Henderson plays an active role in statewide education leadership. He serves as District V director for the Alabama Association of School Boards (AASB), has achieved Master Level status through the AASB Academy, and was named an AASB All-State School Board Member in 2022. He is also a board member for the Alabama Trust for Board of Education and a graduate of Leadership Shelby County’s Class of 2016.
