Please see below important information about school meal benefits and the application process. 

Why Apply for Meal Benefits?

  1. Nutritional Support: Access to healthy meals helps support your child's growth, development, and learning.

  2. Financial Savings: Eligible families can save money on their grocery bills by utilizing school meal programs.

  3. Confidential: The application process and eligibility status are confidential.

How to Apply:

  2. Paper Application: If you do not wish to file your application online, you can request a paper application by contacting the Child Nutrition department for Alabaster City Schools at 205-663-8460. Please note that it may take longer to process your application if you submit a paper copy. 

Important Information:

  • Deadline: To ensure your child receives meal benefits, please submit your application ASAP. 

  • Renewal: If your child was receiving meal benefits last year, you must reapply for the upcoming school year (2024-2025).

  • Assistance: If you need help completing the application or have any questions, please contact Heather McDermott, Director of Child Nutrition for Alabaster City Schools, via phone at (205) 663-8460 or via email at heather.mcdermott@acsboe.org

The guidelines for eligibility change annually, so please apply even if you think you may not qualify. Additionally, the number of applications received can help our school qualify for additional funding and resources to benefit all students.
