Thompson High School proudly introduced the first-ever class of the Champions Craft Academy during a special acceptance ceremony on January 28. This inaugural group of 190 students was selected from more than 220 applicants, all of whom underwent a rigorous application process and an interview with industry partners, just as they would for a real job.
Set to officially open in the 2025-2026 school year, the Champions Craft Academy will offer specialized training in Construction Technology, Industrial Fabrication, and Electrical. Students will receive hands-on learning experiences designed to prepare them for careers in high-demand skilled trades.
A major highlight of the program is its strong industry partnerships. The Academy has already secured 48 signed partnership agreements with companies dedicated to supporting students through:
✅ Collaborative engagement and employment opportunities
✅ Instructional support and mentorship
✅ Job site visits and internships
These partnerships will ensure that students gain real-world experience and direct exposure to industry professionals before they even graduate.
As the first class of Champions Craft Academy students, these 190 students are paving the way for future success in the skilled trades. Congratulations to all who were accepted! The future is bright at Thompson High School!
