275 freshmen at Thompson High School attended the Worlds of Work Career Expo on Thursday, October 17th put on by Central Six AlabamaWorks! for schools in the Birmingham region. Our students were able to participate in interactive exhibits to learn about and gain exposure to real world career opportunities to assist with their future career planning. The event was divided into five different "worlds" featuring STEM, Healthcare & Professional Services, Construction & Utilities, Transportation, Logistics & Automotive, and Manufacturing.

The two types of scholarships and what they cover are listed below. Information: TriGreen sell and service large agriculture equipment that is the staple to the legendary brand along with equipment used around the house and small properties, like lawn tractors, zero turns, gator utility vehicle, and compact tractors. They also offer a construction segment that is their fastest growing portion of the business with skid steers, excavators, and wheel loaders. Each day is a little different and they have plenty of career advancement opportunities for our employees with over 600 employees and 28 locations. TriGreen offers SCHOLARSHIPS for those wanting to pursue this career path for the 2025-2026 School Year. TEN scholarships are available for students in our area. Full scholarship: TriGreen covers all the in-state education costs including room, meal plan books and tuition. And there is a tool program where we have a toolbox stocked with tools dedicated to each scholarship winner. This morning, the Spanish Club, with over 200 members strong, gathered in the Warrior Café to mark the end of Hispanic Heritage Month. 🥳 Student leaders shared a variety of cultural dishes and candies from Spanish-speaking countries around the world, personally serving everyone who came to join the festivities. Club President, Dylan R G, greeted guests, expressed gratitude for the support, and shared his hopes for continued unity, cultural awareness, and growth here at THS. In light of the recent devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, Alabaster City Schools is stepping up to support those impacted by this disaster. Starting this week and running to October 21, 2024, we will collect donations to aid families and communities in need. Your generosity can make a real difference! Our schools will be accepting donations of the following items: Non-perishable food items Clothing (new only) Baby formula (pre-mixed, ready to use) Bottled water Hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, etc.) Cleaning supplies Baby diapers/wipes Blankets, gloves, comforters, etc. Cleaning supplies (disposable gloves, brooms, mops, etc.) Shop vacs Carpet shampooers Tarps Batteries Trash bags Buckets Coolers More items will be added to the supply list as identified by partner organizations.
